Howdy humans! This post is for anyone who lives with little kids. I happen to have a baby sister and she watches a very large amount of animated nursery rhymes on YouTube. Just like cartoons, there are good ones and terrible ones. If you have small children in the building, this post might help you pick out some decent entertainment for them. I’m keeping in mind the fact that the parents may be in the room with the child, and so they probably want something that won’t drive them crazy. I’m starting with the worst ones, so if you’re only interested in knowing which ones are good, scroll to the bottom.
9: Tiny School. This is the absolute WORST kids channel I’ve ever seen. I ran into it by accident and it wasn’t a pleasant experience. The first thing I saw was this bear, and it is FREAKY!!! It looks like an animatronic from Five Nights At Freddy’s. Its eyes don’t move, its teeth are huge and it has this high pitched squeaky voice.
Not every video features the furry freak. When Tiny School isn’t giving your kids nightmares, it offers the absolute worst animation in the history of the world. There is nothing good about this channel. Do not show this thing to your kids. I repeat, DO NOT SHOW TINY SCHOOL TO YOUR KIDS!
8: Farmees. Another accidental encounter, Farmees is boring, repetitive, and low quality. They like to repeat the same songs over and over again, changing the video slightly. The characters are poorly animated and can’t even move together at the same time.
I don’t recommend this channel to anyone who has to watch videos with the kid because they will lose their sanity pretty quickly. The kids probably won’t mind the brain numbing songs, but older humans will.
7: Bob the Train. This is definitely the most annoying channel that I’ve been forced to watch. Bob the train is a bit like Thomas the Tank Engine’s mentally challenged little brother. Bob’s overenthusiastic voice and habit of speaking in the third person make him extremely irritating.
The animation isn’t very good and the songs are as annoying as the characters. The fact that Bob is constantly hanging out with these kids is also slightly creepy. Not too good for kids and even worse for parents.
6: Zool Babies. I believe in quality when it comes to animation, so this channel just depresses me. Many of the songs are practically the same and some of them don’t even make sense. The channel does other animated videos, but they aren’t much better.
I can cope with annoying songs for a little while, but this channel pushed it too far. The songs set a really bad example and even hint that women are below men! There are so many songs where a baby does something stupid and the mother always freaks out and calls the father rather than just fixing the problem herself. The few videos where the dad needs the mum’s advice, seem to only make matters worse, suggesting that women are only good at things like housework.
5: Chu Chu TV. I hate this channel so much. Their first videos weren’t that bad, but I think they started to run out of ideas. The newest videos are the worst ones. For a while, their videos were centred around these four kids. For some reason, they made the name of one of their characters a word that’s slang for something rude that I won’t mention. The animation wasn’t too bad at first either, but now it’s this cheap 2D version.
The songs were originally nursery rhymes, but they ran out and started making up their own. You might think that putting words together wouldn’t be that hard, but apparently it isn’t one of their strong points. Many of the lyrics don’t make sense and they constantly mispronounce words. If you want your child to learn English properly, don’t let them watch this channel.
4: Little Baby Bum. There are many words I could sum up this channel with: boring, annoying, dull, repetitive, the list goes on. The only reason I put this above Chu Chu TV, is that it makes sense. All the songs sound the same and they will drive you to insanity. They go on, and on, and on and ON! Kids don’t mind it, but for adults, it’s slow torture.
Some of the characters look really weird and it’s obvious that a very small amount of work went into the animation. At least this channel is kid friendly. Many parents choose this channel, but if you do, keep the volume down.
3: Baby Joy Joy. What this Chanel may sometimes lack in animation quality, it makes up for with extremely catchy songs. Some of the videos will have the parents singing along with the kids.
This is channel is great for distracting the little ones, plus the parents can cope listening to it (not all the time). My little sister learned quite a few songs from Baby Joy Joy, they like to use their own style with the songs and it’s interesting to hear them sung differently from how they would normally sound.
2: Super Simple Songs. I really like this channel. They used a lot of variety in their videos. The kids get a mixture of animation and actual puppet characters, which you don’t see a lot of these days. The different animation styles mean that the kids are less likely to get bored.
Some of the songs are interactive, where the child has to look for specific colours and shapes. This channel is a very nice mixture of education and entertainment, that parents can watch and not want to rip their hair out.
1: Dave and Ava. This channel is amazing! The creators did such an awesome job making this. The animation is super high quality, and the characters and animals are adorable. When we first found this channel, all of our mouths were hanging open.
Both adults and children will love these videos. The stunning animation goes really well with the songs, and there’s this mouse hiding an object in every video which you have to look out for. I was amazed by the effort that went into this kids channel and I seriously recommend it to all parents and older siblings to show to the little ones.
I’m afraid that I can’t review every kiddy channel on YouTube, so I’m sorry if I left out your favourite one. I try not to make my posts too long, so I won’t be updating this unless one of the channels I mentioned gets taken down. This post seems more about which channels to avoid, rather than which ones to watch. If you need suggestions, there are heaps of sites out there, all packed with advice. Hopefully now, you won’t want to run and hide in the basement when someone mentions the word babysitting.
You should try Teletubbies…absolute brain numbing… I’ve actually never seen any of these for children before. >.< I can't believe that you actually sat down and watched all of these…. I admire your perseverance.

Thanks for the suggestion, I might review Teletubbies if my little sister starts watching it. We tried showing it to her once but she’s still too little to follow a story and gets bored easily. The YouTube channels are just animated songs which are really annoying, so I think I’d probably prefer to watch the Teletubbies. 😂
